iPSP is a web portal for the PlayStation Portable. What is a portal? In its simplest definition, it is a page on the web, or stored on a device, with links to other pages. iPSP is a portal designed to look and run like an Apple iPhone, and it contains several applications and games for your use.

iPSP was created by ctcoding in an effort to bring you the first, and the best, iPhone experience on the PSP.

1. To install iPSP, simply extract the ZIP file on your computer, using your extraction software of choice (such as Windows XPs built-in extractor, or the free program WinZip).

2. Plug in your PSP via USB, and enter USB mode from the PSPs Settings menu.

3. If upgrading from an old version of iPSP, delete the ipsp folder from /PSP/COMMON.

4. Copy the ipsp folder to the /PSP/COMMON folder on your PSP. Make sure all files are copied before disconnecting your PSP.

5. IMPORTANT! If you want to use the iPod application, copy the psptunes folder into the root of your PSP memory stick (NEXT TO the PSP and MP_ROOT folders.)

6. If upgrading from an old version of iPSP, clear your cache by hitting Triangle > Tools > Delete Cache,

7. Disconnect your PSP, and navigate to the web browser in the Internet section. In the web browsers address bar, type file:/PSP/COMMON/ipsp/index.html (without the quotes, of course) to navigate to iPSP.

8. You may now bookmark it or set it as your homepage.

Now that you have gotten iPSP installed, it's time to start using it!

You are most likely at the menu screen of iPSP. If you haven't figured it out yet, it would be a good idea to turn your PSP to it's vertical position.

Using the analog stick and the "X" button, you can navigate iPSP by hovering over and icon and then double-clicking.

Note: To prevent Out of Memory errors, it is advised to occasionally delete your cache while using iPSP.

Note: All games will open in a new browser tab.

Here is an application rundown:

* Digg: The Digg application is an easy-route to get to the social-news website, Digg. It's a great site, and I recommend going to it on your PC as well, by going to http://digg.com.

*Photos: The Photos application displays up to ten photos that you choose, at 5-second intervals.

*Calculator: The Calculator application is just that. A calculator.

*Lock: The Lock application is more for eye candy. It's basically a manually-activated screensaver, and is great if you want to show off your sexy PSP's screen. Just try it. You'll think it looks cool too.

*Weather: The Weather application provides easy access to your local weather. It requires a wireless internet connection. Simply input your zip code and, thanks to Weather Underground, your local weather is displayed.

*iPod: The iPod application allows you to listen to music via PSPTunes. iPSP includes PSPTunes installation files if you dont already have it installed.

*Browser: The EXPEDITION browser is your link to the web, while using iPSP. It has multiple tabs, and all the things you would expect a browser to have. The icon that looks like a book is for your own links, which are read from the PSPs favorites menu.

*Games: The Games application is very simple, and is your access-way to the Flash games that come with iPSP. Simply choose a game to play it.

*About: The About application gives you legal and creation info about iPSP, as well as your current iPSP version.

*Messengers: The Messengers application is your gateway to the mobile messengers provided by eBuddy. They are: AIM, MSN, and Yahoo!

*Mail: The Mail application is your gateway to the most popular mobile mail providers. The providers are:Yahoo Mail, GMAIL, AOL Mail, and Windows Live mail.

*Vipr: The Vipr application is your gateway to the Vipr Online Media Service. At the time of iPSP's release, Vipr is still in production, so check back frequently for more updates on it's status.

If you have any further questions, or any bugs that you find, please post them in the iPSP thread from the forum that
you are coming from.

Epixx and ChrisTek would like to thank the members of the Playstation Underground Forums, the Blazebyte Forums, and the PSPUpdates Forums for
their support during the development of iPSP. If it wasn't for you, there would never have been a reason for us to develop iPSP. Thanks.

You may add songs to the iPod application by editing the playlist.xml file in /psptunes. Please note that the psptunes folder should be in the root of your memory stick, NOT in the common folder.

Read on to learn about adding songs to PSPTunes.

1. First off, the PSP's web browser has a habit of running out of memory - it is therefore suggestible that you compress your mp3 songs to a size of about 500KB. This can be done with mp3 compression software.

2. You can copy these mp3 songs to anywhere on your PSP - the music folder under PSP is a good place.

3. Open playlist.xml in notepad. It is located in the psptunes folder

4. Add a new line above </player> and enter the following:
<song src="________" name="________" artist="_______" />
* src - for example: if your song was located in your PSP's music folder, you would type file:/PSP/Music/song.mp3
* name - the song name - can include spaces
* artist - the song artist - can include spaces

5. Save and open PSPTunes from the iPSP menu.
